Since 2013, the Student Alumni Association has successfully hosted nearly two dozen Alumni Career Chat Employment Success Series (A.C.C.E.S.S.) events. Each A.C.C.E.S.S. event is tailored to a specific theme, career, or area of study and invites four to six alumni per event to share their experiences after graduating. SAA provides students with the ACCESS to ask UC Merced alumni questions during the panel and roundtable discussions to learn about their journey.
Goals and Objectives
- Connect students to alumni through various panel and roundtable discussions
- Engage alumni by providing them with the platform to share their journey
- Support academic programs by inviting faculty and staff to serve as event moderators and collaborating with numerous campus partners
- Prepare students for their future careers through personal networking opportunities

Awards & Recognition
In 2018, UC Merced's A.C.C.E.S.S. earned both the Gold Award in Student Alumni Initiatives and the Grand Gold Award of Excellence from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District VII. Only seven Grand Gold Awards were awarded this year.
